I'm in an office with 30 teachers or so(middle school). One lady's phone rings all the time and not just 3 or 4 rings and shuts off. I'm talking about 20 rings before they finally give up and 5 min. later they try again for 20 rings or more. This has been going on all during my break period and I finally went over and shut it down.

She came back just now and I mentioned right away that I turned it off because it kept ringing. Thought she might want to turn on manner mode when she went to class because I wasn't the only one annoyed. Jeezus....she flipped out on me. Said sorry about that and walked away.

Just happened....back to class. Just a quick story, that's all.

Yeah, she's being completely unreasonable.

Next time just push the * key on her phone for a couple seconds--that'll put it in manner mode. I don't think she'll get as mad about that.

She may have been expecting an important message, but nevertheless she SHOULD have turned down her volume. If she were a normal, stable person, she would not have gotten upset.

You should've answered it and told the person to stop calling you.

I guess you dont' touch things that are not yours, especially things rather personal like a cell phone. I just let the phones ring and I stop teaching when a phone call comes in. We also have land line office phones in the classrooms that ring often during class with the Korean teacher answering. I just take a short break from teaching...

I can understand why you turned it off, but you turned someone's cell phone off, and that might annoy someone no matter where they're from, Slim. You could have asked her to put it on manner mode or hit the manner mode, and she would have somehow thought it fell on that mode.

Koreans and manners.

I had the same thing happen with an American teacher here, ha ha Americans and manners. get the point?
Well done on your blanket statements. This sort of thing woud never happen outside of Korea now would it? The OP was telling a story and it seemed a fair thing to do, then you come along and make a sweeping statement that shows your ignorance.
well done, all koreans are rude...yes good job clown

Generally, Koreans are rude.
There's a reason why Koreans are GENERALLY not well liked in The Phillipines, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.
Hmmm. What could that be?

lol, I like how you state this like it's a fact. Can you back it up? And if you can is it based on the fact that koreans are rude?
Hey lets look at the reputation of the Americans, hmmm does that mean all Americans are like what people think, you know ignorant, loud, brash etc? Think before you post mate.

I don't understand why if you suggested she should put it in manner mode next time, why you didn't just put it in manner mode this time yourself.

I'm not saying Americans don't have a reputation.
I'm saying Koreans are rude, generally.
Read before you write, mate.

The last time you asked me for proof, I owned you.
This time, I have the personal experience of business people in those countries who literally despise dealing with Koreans.
I used to work in the computer optics industry, and I've had extensive business trips in those countries.
Travel agents, restaurant owners, shop owners, tour guides, hotel clerks. They all tell the same story.
And the story didn't come about until I witnessed certain behaviors right before my very eyes.
