No, and neither to the Korean teachers as far as I can fathom. EBS tests are done via some sort of weird machine (I don't come from a multiple choice nation so filling out a Lotto card for your English test is foreign to me). Vocabulary tests are usually, in my small rural public middle schools, checked in the lesson. Other tests, I have no idea.
From the exam furore of last term I think that exams are marked via the same bizarre 'put the piece of cardboard in a machine' method.
Why do you ask? Are they making you mark things the students actually wrote from their own initiative?
Sorry, but Korean school testing is 99% 'did you pick the right box? and 1% 'did you think?' |

Today my co-teacher for grade 6 gave a test for the national curriculum lesson 10. She made up small tests where the students had to write in English and Korean. Then she told me I had to grade them. |

Unlucky you - the joys of being a "model school" I suppose.
I don't know if "grading" them would necessarily be correct. More likely checking / correcting them? They don't have a recorded grade (percentile or letter grade) for grade 6 students. They only get 2 choices, pass or pass.
Did you perhaps letter grade them (A,B,C) for splitting the class into different levels?

No grading really. I did have to give speaking tests and give them marks, of my own choosing. Too save myself somework I gave them a score of 10,7,4 or 1 out of ten for each of the five questions. Pretty easy then and you still get a good natural distribution. |

No but I have to assign every student a grade for my class. So I've got an attendance roster for each class taped to the back wall. During class, I give them a grade based on how well they perform the activity. After class I write the appropriate grade (A, B, or C--no Ds or Fs) next to the students' names on the wall. They always enjoy seeing who got an A last time. |

I haven't heard or seen of any tests. It's school as usual except there was a soccer tournament recently which canceled one of my classes. Strange thing is that no one, but the competing teams got to view the games as all the other teams were in class while the games went on. It seems pointless to do this if no one gets to watch the games, but are only told who won.
Exams baby! Bring em' on. |

Yes, indeed; the joys of being a "model" school. I do correct them/mark them, then give them a # out of 20 (15/20). My co-teacher told me at the end of the semester I have to calculate their scores and give them grades, but she's been wrong on a lot of things so far. |

I don't grade or give tests. I just teach and hope they learn something. |

I'll get to do this next week. Ugh.
My favorite thing is that they are always given to me to correct on the actual day they have to be submitted to the office. |
