|
|
Earlier this evening (just after 6:30), I was at Hoegi station in northeast Seoul, waiting on the Jungang Line platform to catch a train to Deokso.
As the train arrived, the other people on the platform started to gasp and point down the platform. I was looking the other way, so I didn't see what they were upset about. But it quickly became apparent that someone had fallen and been hit/gone under the train.
I didn't see anything or hear anything, and I didn't feel comfortable asking questions (especially given my limited Korean skills).
Did anyone else witness this? Or hear about it afterward? It was rather disturbing, all the more so for not knowing better what was going on. |

Must not have been too disturbing because I was waiting for a train there at 6:50 and it was business as usual. |

honestly, with korea being one of the highest suicide rates in the world, this must happen all the time.
i know it does in toronto and you never hear anything about it. |

Maybe the person was talking on the phone and not paying attention to the surroundings. |

Yeah you do have to love how people are stone drunk 30 minutes after work and fall in front of subway trains. |

Really? I live near Hoegi station. I was there last night at 6pm, probably right before it happened... that's disturbing indeed. |

They haven't gotten around to giving Hoegi the suicide barriers yet? |
