|

Beware...do not go to the Korean Embassy in Thailand believing they will approve a tourist visa. I was flat out denied. Talking to the lady working there, she said that new policies exist within the board that flat out deny anyone and everyone trying to obtain a tourist visa coming from Thailand. Must be that Thailand has been a very popular destination to blow all your Korean money and they've gotten wise (too much money leaving Korea). I was denied and now have only one-month to stay in Korea or obtain an E-2. |

OP, I don't quite understand: did you go to Thailand on a "true" visa run to get a work visa for Korea(after getting a job in Korea while on a tourist visa)? If not, and if you just want a tourist visa for Korea, why the hell not just fly to S. Korea & they'll just stamp a tourist visa in your passport(if you're a Westerner). Or am I missing something here?
Someone mentioned a C-3 visa...no bloody idea what that is.... |

I didn't want to hear that. I'm going to Thailand for that reason. |

thanks alot for the notice. I really hope you get it sorted out somehow, although I have to admit I am new myself to all these visa dealings.
sorry I also want to ask something because don't quite understand. So you went to Thailand not on a "visa run" but on a "visa issuance" right? I mean if a person already has a multi entry visa and only needs to go ANYWHERE to get out and back in the country then Thailand shouldn't be any different than a one day trip to Jpn is what I am imagining.
--> I mean if a person needs a new issue of said kind of visa then that sounds like Thailand is a danger, but if a person just needs to go to Thailand (and get through their airport immigration to prove they went somewhere for at least a day) then it sounds like Thailand is still safe for that person.
again I apologize since I am new to these things, and thanks again for the information. |

oh yah Kiddirts, I THINK you could once again leave the country (i.e. for a day, of course that means more wasted time and MONEY!), get a C-3 (3 month) visa and come back in, if you are currently not up for applying for the E-2 as of yet. But I don't know if you are from America and don't know which countries do and don't have C-3 visas. But leaving for a day for the 3 month visa is the only other way I see as possible, as much as a pain in the ass the c---suckers at the Korean embassy in Thailand made it for you. What a bunch of sh-t. |

went for a visa issuance of a multiple entry visa...the lady was actually cool who was dealing with me (She was Thai NOT Korean...HAH!) but she said there's no way that the "boss" would even grant me a one time 3-month visa because they are cracking down hardcore as of late. I guess all the Kao San Road backpackers were getting this wild idea of doing a 3 month in Korea and using that money to budget out a 4 year stay in Thailand. |
