What is the place that you absolutely have to visit before you push daisies? For me, that place is Egypt. I want to see the pyramids, Sphinx, Nile,etc. Always been something that I've wanted to do. A ticket to Cairo and being in the desert...sweet.

Whirlwind, the 1st place that comes to mind for me is Kashmir. And that`s simply because a good friend, whose judgement I value and who has traveled extensively, told me that she and her husband had found it to be the most beautiful place in the world. I`ll stay in a houseboat there, the mountains a backdrop.

Oh, if you do get to Egypt, see if you can camp overnight in the desert (and I`d guess that it would be best to do so with a guide or as part of a group). I`ve heard that the absolute quiet and stillness of the desert, and the wide expanse of the dunes and a sky full of stars (another friend told me that when he had overnighted in the desert he felt that he could reach up and touch them), makes for an unforgetable experience.

If I were to compile such a list, it would take me ages. I am an island and beach kind of person. Having done most of Southeast Asia, I would probably want to see some obscure Pacific island. Fiji would do the trick though! I would like to explore Brazil for a while. Columbia is up there pretty damn high. Hell, I just want to take a trip from Texas to Chile! I would be an idiot if I failed to mention Hawaii and Alaska .... They are the only two states I have not been to.

there are a few places/travels for me:

1. a crosscontinental train or car ride to Perth from the Australian west (or north) coast
2. a hike up Mount Kilimanjaro (a childhood dream yet to realize or discard)
3. a one-week walk or two-day bike ride from Budapest to my late dad's hometown of Endrod (like he did in the forties)
4. a drive around Wales
5. an outdoor hockey game in Helsinki, Tampere or Turku, Finland
6. a multi-stop long Mediterranean cruise of the Spanish, French, Italian, Greek coasts
7. Havana for a jazz festival
8. New Orleans and/or Rio during Mardi Gras
9. Carnaval de Qu�bec
10. Ecuador's Gal�pagos

Definitely the Pyramids of Egypt, Mexico, and Peru.

If the wife and I ever get the chance after the kids are raised, ITALY! All of ITALY (Alps, Venice, Pisa, Rome, Vatican). For me, Italy is like an overdose of history!

Bhutan would be my place.

Although I've done enough traveling and just want to settle down here in Seoul (and Bangkok); I would not turn down a trip to Bhutan.

Actually, I did go to Kashmir. It was about 12 years ago, maybe a bit less dangerous than now. The airport security was really severe, but the lake and the gardens were still amazing. You can also go to Leh Ladakh in the same state. It is over the top of the Himalayas, but still in India; its like being on the moon.

I want to take the Trans-Siberian railroad from Biejing to Moscow.

I almost went to Kashmir a year ago, but then there were a couple of bombings (during Ramadan) so I didn't get there. I'm heading back to India in December- so maybe then.

There are lots of places I want to go, but the "have to go there before I die" demand has been met. Now it is just seeing and experiencing as much as I can before I settle in Mexico.

Fiji, Tahiti, Easter Island, Australia, NZ, Hawaii, Galapagos... if I were going to die, I'd get a boat and start sailing (and possibly die a little sooner that way....)
