I recently walked through downtown Atlanta with two Koreans. The first thing I said when we ended up in a place that was definitely "real gangsta" was "Don't look at anyone's eyes." Actually, it wasn't that bad. No one out of the 1,000 thuggish looking characters packed in front of the stores said a word to us. The smell of chronic was pungent. I damn sure wouldn't have considered trying to make a hip hop video there though. |

He's playing at a Daejeon nightclub soon. The posters are everywhere. |

Let's see what the likely Korean-written Wikipedia entry has to say:
Quote: |
Even though the song did not reach top 20, the album received decent reviews. |
Well, isn't that a thunderous endorsement?
Quote: |
Most of his songs are listener-friendly hip-hop songs. |
I've never heard of a "listener-unfriendly" song, have you?
And did you know that he has about 300 ex-girlfriends, including a princess from Jordan? I believe that, don't you? I mean, he had a below-top-20 album in Korea that got mediocre reviews. Not even a sultan's daughter can resist that. |

Should I bother to ask why the sudden interest in Crown J? I mean if you don't care for his music, appearance, etc., then simply ignore him. |

No. Phonies like that need to be roughed up and frightened out of their "occupation." Korea needs Suge Knight |

I think Lupe Fiasco said it best in "Dumb it down"...check the song out if you haven't.
Crown J is a rapper, but not a hip hop artist. Korea is being bombarded by crap hip hop like Soulja boy...and why not? It's catchy and has a little dance to it. They don't have to understand the words at all, they just put on a do-rag and copy dance moves.
Hip-hop isn't bling or thug...it was about a message. I don't care if you're white and ride a skateboard, if you have a message and a tite beat than you're down with me.
Tiger JK, Epik High...these guys may not sound like U.S rap but they are trying to do some genuine things with words and not gimmicks. If you understand korean, find "8:45" by Tiger JK...it is damn moving. |

I was out on a date on the weekend and topic got around to music. I like Korean rock, she hates it. She loves Korean hip-hop, I hate it. She rambled on and on about how great hip hop music is blah blah, so I asked her about Crown J. I couldn't for the life of me remember his name, so I threw his little "gang" sign. "Oh! You mean Crown J... I hate much. He is faker rapper." |

I can't stand his "wife", she seems to always be whining about something.
She has too much plastic surgery too. |
