So I was thinking about getting one of these. I have to wear suits and blazer combos to work every day, so I normally carry a briefcase...but lately I've been seeing pretty cool messenger bags. What are the popular brands, where in Korea did you buy yours, and how much did you pay?

If you wear a suit or a blazer, I wouldn't wear a messenger bag. The strap affects the durability of your jacket and can also affect the shape.

Just wear a backpack. Messenger bags are a pain to carry around. They always get in the way and all the weight is one one shoulder.

i've got my baileyworks super delux super pro xl which i use for just about everything and a chrome ivan rolltop bag for when it's pouring or when my shoulder hurts.

both are great, nearly undestructable, and carry a ton. good luck getting one here though. the only place that i know that carries serious pro-quality mess bags is skid bikes in akpujong (i know i'm spelling that all wrong aren't i?) but they're into the fashion side of mess'ing so the stuff they carry is a little overpriced, mostly reload bags and sag from japan.

I found a few good bags at Uniqlo. They were pretty cheap. I picked mine up for 30,000w.

A suit and backpack combo... that's brilliant. Advising the OP to look like a clown or a prep-school student may not be the sort of feedback he was seeking.

To the OP: If you don't want to carry a briefcase, maybe you should consider a leather bag.

No suit/blazer messenger bag combos, I was thinking about other times when I'm not going to the office. I can appreciate you pointing that out though, good call.

Yes. With a suit. Just like on Wall Street.

There are tons of messenger bags in the leather goods shops on Itaewon main street. All styles, all prices.

I got my Delsey brown leather bag there for 210,000. Not cheap, but a pleasure to use.

A backpack with a suit is a very, very bad idea.

I agree with the Uniqlo suggestion, I saw some nice, simple ones for guys.

I go to Uniqlo like, once a week. I don't know why.

I don't care about style too much. I would do it. I've done it before.

I like Delsey, but I was wondering what all the cool young people are buying back home these days...which messenger bag would one buy if money wasn't an issue? I know Patagonia makes a decent one...but since it's been awhile since I left university, and messenger bags weren't yet introduced waaaay back then.....I have humbled myself to the inspiration of the young new grads here on Slaves ESL cafe for advice Smile

Unfortunately for you most people do care....for the love of god, don't wear a backpack and a suit unless you want to be laughed at and talked about behind your back.

No wonder some Korean people think we're losers who couldn't get a job back home.

A simple nice leather one will do...there are plenty of great bag makers and websites if you willing to get one shipped. I searched up and down dongdaemon one night and all I found were those murses korean guys love. I ended up buying a decent no name leather bag that's pretty good...a bit small....I noticed a serious lack of bike messanger style bags here....
