I found out the day of the class that I'd be doing a demo lesson for some visitors and tried to prepare something that would work well. Then, just as I was about to go to the class one of my co-teachers gave me a stack of handouts that I was supposed to teach - some weird game I had never done before and didn't really understand. It also turned out that some of the visitors to my class would include a bunch of students from elsewhere who would also participate. These included both elementary kids and adults. And accompanying them was Ya-ta Boy. I was really surprised to see him of all people, but he used to teach in my school district so perhaps someone contacted him for some reason. He had really slimmed down, too. It also turned out that the lesson would be in a different classroom, one where some students were seated on stools around high tables and others in chairs with no desks. Unfortunately this classroom had no A/V resources. As I began the lesson someone started videotaping. A few of my students could follow me but the guest students were of all different levels and many of them started talking amongst themselves trying to figure out what the hell was going on. So, another co-teacher started interrupting me with long explanations in Korean; the students still looked clueless.

Then I woke up. I know I've been teaching in Korea for far too long when I start having nightmares like that.

Sounds like some of the horror stories I've read on Dave's over the years. Though dreaming of work is a sign that you need a vacation.

Whenever I dream of work I always tell my bosses they owe me for overtime. They rarely seem to get the joke though.

Un Chien Korea.

I begin sharpening my straight razor as I smoke. I look out into the night sky and notice that a cloud is passing through the full moon. I take my straight razor and slice through my co-teachers eye.

Yeah, I don't recall work in Korea ever entering my dreams here.

Damn, whenever I'm not in Korea, I dream about working in Korea all the time...

I went to observe a demo class yesterday and couldn't follow the lesson. I couldn't understand the K co-teacher's pronunciation. Some of the written materials used (and the lesson plan) had improper English grammar. Rolling Eyes

It was not a dream!
