Only the ones made in China or with Chinese milk are bad.
Get your M&M's, Snickers, or Oreos from Costco and you can enjoy them all you like, because they're made in the USA. |

I just bought a fuckin huge box of Dove Chocolate. I guess i'd better feed it to the cats. Or just give it to my students, I don;t care if they get poisoned
Hopefully that ice cream I just ate won't fucking kill me.
Why are Koreans just chilling about this when they freaked out so bad about American beef? |

Such bedwetters. You're not infants and this isn't baby formula. The trace amounts of melamine found in candy bars is well below the risk level. Face facts: Just living in Korea (with the exception of select neighbourhoods in northern Seoul) is taking more years off your life than all the melamine-tainted Chinese food ingredients you could eat.
Besides, China has cleaned up its act and learnt its lesson: Next time this happens, lean fast & heavy on foreign governments to muzzle their sensationalist media, or face the consequences. |
I wouldn't say they're bedwetters. Here's a quote from the article.
"The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has said small amounts of melamine -- less than 2.5 parts per million -- are not harmful in most foods, except baby formula.
The South Korean tests found 1.78 parts per million of melamine in Snickers bars, 2.38 parts per million in M&Ms, 2.89 parts per million for KitKats, and up to 3.36 parts per million in the Lotte biscuits."
So, less than 2.5 parts per million isn't harmful, except in baby formula, which leads one to believe that more than 2.5 parts per million can be harmful. There are 2.89 parts per million in the Kit Kats, and up to 3.36 parts per million in the Lotte biscuits. That doesn't scream safe for consumption for me.
I only posted this because I'm sure some people are concerned about it, and would want to be made aware of the findings. |

Because they FEAR the Communists.
We'll see how many more products have been made with Chinese milk. |

In a very indirect way, it's fortunate that this happened as I used it as an excuse to talk about healthy snacking and fresh fruit and local milk as alternatives to store-bought crap. And we're surrounded out here by many farms, it only makes sense.
But then again I said the same thing years ago about candy bars back home. What the hell is carnauba wax anyway and would we knowingly eat it if it weren't flavored in chocolate? They don't care if you die, they just want their damn dollar.
Another ten points goes to living in the countryside. Hurray for sustainable rural economies and rejuvenated agricultural communities!

Are all of the products actually being pulled off shelves or is this recall voluntary?
I have noticed A LOT of the listed products still on store shelves. |

If you eat it once or twice don't worry, it's not like cyanide. The problem is if you have it every day (like baby formula). It's bad but not deadly unless you are a baby or have a kidney problem |

It was found in chocolate bars in Korea, including M&M's, KitKat, Snickers and a Lotte brand biscuit. If you eat these things, please read the article. |
I was at HomePlus recently and saw Cadbury candy containing melamine.
It's strange that Koreans will protest US beef based on some purposeful mistranslations but not go after Korean industries for melamine-tainted candy. I wonder why.
Do Koreans like melamine more than Americans? |
