Because "the world" is very easily misled by charismatic people claiming they represent idealistic change, etc. No more, no less.
As soon as they see that he does not indeed do all that the various people in the world community imagine he will do for them, they will turn on him, and all will resume as it is now: the cacophony. Some group or another will even call him "Hitler" or "fascist" or "murderer" in his first year in office. |
