Here's a story from abc News that doesn't make us look too good. There's several other Korean related articles on the page. The photo looks like it could have been from my old classroom (hagwons and their wall smudges LOL).

$100 for 1 gram of marijuana? That's insane. I wouldn't buy it. I didn't know there was all this rampant illegal drug use going on as I've never known any FT's to have drugs in Korea. It just doesn't hardly happen, but it does rarely happen as a few were busted in Seoul last year.
Wow, I didn't know this English job was this lucrative.

I think most of the people making the Ivy league level tutors making big bucks are gyopo's. They have the reputation and the network here. |

"Investigations showed that the teacher smoked marijuana last year in the United States before departing for Korea and also in Thailand in February while on vacation."
This sounds suspect. I don't see how an investigation here could uncover what someone did in the US and Thailand. Unless the teacher just likes to freely talk about her exploits.
"Now, even soldiers, Nigerians, Australians all try to pick up girls pretending that they are Americans from the States teaching English."
Hidden camera idea: YouTube was made for this! |

I will be so glad to be out of this hell hole soon. If you prod your students, especially adult students, you will soon learn what worthless a-holes they think we really are. If I had 1000 won for every time I heard, "You aren't Korean so you can't possibly understand" I would be rich. Some other gems I heard this week were that only foreigners have diseases like AIDS. This place is a hostile, racist hole in the wall. I say let these morons teach themselves Englishee.
About drugs, I have heard that shit from my students as well. One out of how many teachers gets caught with drugs? Why don't we generalize about Koreans and their unethical business practices back in the states? If you guys can't see their disdain for you, you are either really stupid or really blind. |

This was likely written by an intern as part of her internship project.
She's certainly well on her way to a job at MBC one day. |

This was in the KTimes a few weeks ago. I sent Park a letter telling him how lucky he was that he lives in Korea, where hack journalists can actually make money from inventing their own stories.
Can you count the factual inconsistencies / flaws in logic???

DRUG SMUGGLERS USE POST SERVICE:
By Park Si-soo
Staff Reporter
International mail, parcel and express cargo services are emerging as the most sought-after routes for drug trafficking here.
According to Incheon Airport Customs Tuesday, customs officers detected 69 cases of drug smuggling using international mail or parcel services and six using express cargo service in the first seven months of the year, accounting for 87.2 percent of all drug smuggling cases detected over the period.
Customs foiled 86 drug smuggling attempts between January and July, confiscating 16.6 kilograms of hallucinatory substances worth 5.1 billion won ($5 million), up 18 percent in weight from a year before.
International mail and parcel services are run by government or state-backed firms, while express cargo services are mainly offered by private transportation service providers such as DHL and Fedex.
``Such delivery services are available even without disclosing real names or ID numbers as long as there are names and addresses. It seems to be a major reason for the steep increase of drug trafficking through these services,'' Lee Seung-kyu, a Incheon Airport Customs officer, told The Korea Times.
The number of attempts to smuggle in methamphetamine through international mail and parcel services dropped 14 percent from last year, while the volume detected increased 66 percent.
Marijuana consumption, once rampant at nightclubs and foreign communities here, is likely to lose its popularity. Authorities caught 37 cases of the smuggling between January and July, up from 32 a year earlier, but the seized quantity dropped 82 percent.
The customs office said China's intensified inspection of substances in international courier services contributed to the decrease in the smuggling.
Chinese authorities launched a full-scale investigation into drug trafficking ahead of the Beijing Olympics. In addition, Incheon Airport Customs has also instituted a tougher crackdown on smuggling. The office will team up with prosecution, police and the National Intelligence Service to counter drug trafficking.

| And I'll bet the silly wh0re wouldn't know a thing about the Chuxing incident in Busan in 2003 in which a North Korean boat with 50kgs of methampetimine was turned away by customs authorities in the name of the Sunshine Policy. The Norks are responsible for most of the drug traffic in this part of the world. |
