Is there anyone here who is currently in the program or planning to be in it? I was thinking of doing a year in Korea to take a break from school due to plenty of issues life slammed at me. How's the placement when it comes to grade level, because I want to teach high school.
TaLK seems like less work for the same amount of money, but I'm not so keen on those elementary schoolers. |

Good idea, I suggest an all-girls HS. |

I believe in the TaLK program you make less money than you would as an FT. I don't think you get plane tickets either. I also think you have to do a homestay and are only allowed here for four months at a time.
Can anyone confirm this? |

I checked the TaLK website, and it is basically like a FT, only less hours and pay due to not having a degree. Plane tickets and accommodation is provided with homestay as one of the options. Should be 1.5k for 15 hours of work, unlike gepik internship which offers 22? hours for 1.6k.
haha definitely up for an all girls HS, but any HS will do. |

A teacher at this school is in the Talk program. She only works in the afternoon (3 classes), and it seems like the living arrangements are different than what I am getting. If I remember correctly, she has a roommate. |

The GEPIK internship is IDENTICAL to the standard GEPIK contract in terms of work and benefits
WITH THE EXCEPTIONS OF:
1) no degree required
2) Pay is from 1.5-to a MAXIMUM if 1.8 million.

Roommate I think, I'll try to ask her next week. I haven't seen her since they moved me to where I teach. |

NOTE:
The GEPIK internship is NOT part of the TALK program even though it allows people without a degree to teach.
IT is WORSE than the TaLK program.
The TALK program is 15 hours for 1.5 mil.
The GEPIK internship is 22 hours (regular classes) for 1.5 mil. The same hours, work and responsibilities of the GEPIK program at 25% LESS money.
