I'd have to go along with that.

They told me that it's difficult to place non North American teachers due to the fact the Koreans 'are used to the North American accent', and that it might be very difficult to place me as I was British. I was surprised at their repsonse because on the CV I sent them it clearly showed that I had six years previous teaching experience in Korea, on top of a CELTA, a DELTA and twelve years teaching experience in five countries.

I don't think they bothered to even look at my CV, just nationality.

Footprints because it took them so long to contact me after I applied, I'd already had a couple interviews and accepted a job.

Footprints lied to me. They said I'd be living in the city and put me way out in the sticks. Of course, it was too late to change anything after I had arrived.

I don't know whether this guy is still around. But I remember being woken up from a University drunken hangover by a guy called" Mike Oh".
Not only did he want a 200$ fee but he expected you to show up at the airport with a bottle of Whiskey for him. I believe his company was called Bok Ji corporation.

same here regarding Footprints......hardly "difficult" to get a job anyway even with a British accent. Schools in Korea can`t be too picky these days as there are tons of jobs out there and not enough teachers to fill them.

To clarify - Footprints does not discriminate based on nationality. Judging accents is a part of our interview process, however it is not based on whether a candidate is from North America or not, but whether the individual speaks clearly and can be understood easily. We reject North American candidates based on this criteria as well.
We currently represent over 100 teachers in South Korea alone from non-North American countries and have plenty of jobs for good teachers from all English speaking countries.
