Hey everyone,

I'm just wondering if anyone out there would know about the process required to transfer money between banks internationally (I assume 90% of you do that . . . so if anyone knows the particulars about transferring between Korea and Canada, or with KB bank and BMO, I'd be happy to hear them).

Thanks for any time you spend in offering (helpful) knowledge or advice.

At KB, find an English speaking clerk and tell him/her that you want to set up the "Overseas Remittance" option on the ATMs for your account. Bring all your ID plus your bank book and card. You'll fill out forms indicating where you want the money to go (your Canadian address and phone number, the bank branch's address and phone number, plus your account number) and it will take about twenty minutes.

Then you go to the ATM and wire money to the "Registered Remittance". You don't need to see a teller again unless you want to send money to a different account.

If you have a PC Financial account or another bank account... you should transfer the money to one of them because...BMO charges high fees.

The won is bouncing back today as people try to cash in on the exchange rate. It will be interesting to see what happens to it later this week.

Hopefully stays low until payday next week... lol

Thanks to the 2nd poster... I followed your instructions and got it set up that I can send money via ATM to my account at TD Bank back home Very Happy

FYI - The fee is 30 - 40k charged by KB... Not sure about banks at home (though I heard a rumour that TD was only 5 or 10 bucks)
