This may have been asked before, but the search function seems to be inoperable...

I need to send some bucks back home to get my CRC, and they need a money order. Where can I get one easily? I bank with Hana bank...can anyone give me some tips on doing this painlessly? A translation would help...and do I need to specify the reciever, or do I just write it in myself?

thanks!

The most painless would no doubt be the Korean Exchange Bank.

I just did this with woori. I went with a Korean and she translated. It was still a pain in the butt. It took about an hour for them to understand what I wanted. I finally got it though.

They will ask for a specified receiver and type it in.

Got one at KEB a month or so ago. No problems. Cleared in Canada without delay, as well.

The Japanese for "Traveler's Check" was turabella checku and I still had to repeat myself about ten times and have another employee called over to interpret when I got them in Japan.

Me: Turabella checku.
Interpreter (to teller): Turabella checku.
Teller: Ah! Turabella checku! Ah!

If you don't speak Korean, then just keep it simple:

"Kay-nah-dah dah-luh soo-pyo, juseyo" (캐나다 달러 수표, 주세요.)

This means "Please give me a Canadian dollar cheque." It's not eloquent but it's grammatically correct and they'll get the point. "Soopyo" is the closest equivalent to "cheque".
