I don't want a sermon. I just want the damn book.

Is there a church that gives them away or mails them?

Anyone know?

Probably not if you have a username like "freethought."

Good point.

For the record I do not plan on burning it, or using the pages as toilet paper.

I need it for a research project, and I'm tired of doing readings while starring at a computer monitor.

My hagwon is something of a bible brigade... there are bibles everywhere. I'm sure you could find someone more than willing to lend you one...

are you talking about english or korean? Because the english bible seems to be the only book my fellow teachers own.

English bible, is what I'm looking for, but this is an on-going project, likely two years to go on it, so l'm hoping to get a copy for myself, rather than borrowing someone else's.

Send me a PM if you know if you can get one, and I will make my way to Cheonan or transfer money to you to send it, or buy you a token of appreciation in return.

thanks.

I got approached by 3 different Jehovah witnesses (two knocked on my door and one approached me on the street) in the first couple of months I was here. I finally stopped answering the door. They tried to give me free bibles.

Doesn't the Jehovah's Witness Bible use a translation that is considered extremely inaccurate, even by non-religious people?

I'm kind of fond of this site. Also, the Gideons will hand out the New Testament in Korean in front of schools (but not on the school property). Keep your eye open for that and they'll be happy to give you one. You can call them at 02-2644-9960/9961/9962/9963 and ask them to send you a Bible.

yes it does. An educated person who doesn;t believe in fairy tales and doesn't want to support some church organization which will use it to brain wash grown-ups and kids alike, and use the money to buy a mega church instead of giving it to starving kids in Africa. I could go on, if you like....
