It centers around food corprate giants feeding us garbage not in our interests, because their cheap synthesized ingrediants kill us while they get rich off it. Americans should be mad as hell. Please read the link, before commenting.

To summarize: As a whole, the American standard of living is falling as a direct result of the foods that Americans are being fed. And as Americans march into poverty, somewhere up there at the top of the pyramid is making money every step of the way. And that's why Americans should be mad as hell.

This website documents many issues that are not simply conspiracy theories, but the very real problems our corporate fat cats living the American dream have engineered in their pursuits of wealth. If anything, they destroyed millions of their own country people.

It's really unfortunate that our representatives, government, corporations, and elections fail to address the real underlying problems, but yet so many common people on every block up and down main street USA are talking. Talking they are, but no one in power is listening while the rich discount them as being wrong for thinking that our systems in place are nothing less than the best in the world. The rich are living in a fantasy world and lying about engineering things only in their own best interests to get rich instead of their customers interests of healthy food and good products that keep good jobs at home.

I've known for years that because they started using hydrogenated shortening in the 1970's instead of butter and coconut oil which increases food corporate profits, people are unncessarily getting fat and falling into ill health which feeds the pharmaceuticals while we a have political process controlled by corporations. They say we have the best health care system in the world, but we have the worst health of any 1st world country. I know firsthand this is valid statement that accurately reflects what I see when I go home.

Those Big Macs are tasty though.

A couple months ago, McDonalds ran a promotion on the big mac. It was very simple. Order a large big mac meal and get a second big mac for 59 cents. It disgusts me to think that they still made money on each of those meals they sold. Thank god they got rid of the supersized meal. They still find ways to serve up bigger portions to a larger and more obese public.

I think this is a load of crap. It's perfectly viable to eat healthy in the states. In fact, if more people chose to do so then healthier food would be more widely available and cheaper.

The situation may have gotten a bit out of hand, but as far as I'm concerned Americans have no one to blame but themselves for their obesity problem.

Edit: Aren't the conspiracies supposed to be in the current events forum?

Yeah, just stick to the walls of the grocery store. All your basics. It's cheap and good.

Actually the real conspiracy theory is that the whole world is just an illusion centered around me designed to test out the reactions of a human mind.

I bought a book while I was in Thailand called " The End of Food" . It is a great read for those who are concerned about what they eat.

It explains why so many people are getting fat and why the toxins are getting into food and milk in China.

good article. it is viable to eat healthy in the states. but it really is more expensive which is just ridiculous. its definitely true that companies like mcdonalds will use whatever is cheaper to turn a bigger profit. usually whats cheaper is not always good or better for you. if you havent read fast food nation by eric schlosser, that will really open your eyes to whats going on with it. also, michael pollan's books are good, i have not read them myself but have been told they have some of the same info in them as well. you can eat healthy in the states, its possible. the problem is that it is so much easier and more attuned with most people's lifestyles not to. well now anyways. its a lifestyle idea that marketers sell to you so you buy their shit. not too mention ALOT of people really don't have any idea what they are eating, what is good or bad, what a normal serving size is, why its not really that great to eat shit with 0 calories/fat/etc cuz you'll just want something else later. i like that the article points out the industry of cookbooks and losing weight. working in a bookstore for most of a decade, i can say it is so true. the atkins diet? wtf? just eat normal size portions and for the love of god eating that much meat and cheese cannot be good for you. but people sell it and they sell it well and so other people go out and buy it. its just a vicious circle back home, every time i think about it i get dizzy. Sad little depressed now that i thought about all this stuff

I'm not sure why this has to be a conspiracy theory. Couldn't it just be as simple as selling the most products at the least expense?

False. Produce is cheap in North America. Chicken thighs with bones are cheap. A head of lettuce is cheap. Apples are cheap. A can of tuna is cheap. A dozen eggs are cheap. Flour is cheap. It's not expensive to eat healthy. It's expensive to eat healthy and QUICKLY.

This isn't a conspiracy theory. We know fast food is unhealthy. We also know it's cheap. It's a personal choice to eat healthy and maintain a healthy lifestyle. It's also a choice to throw junk food down your throat. It's called junk food for a reason and nobody is capable of feeding it to us. We feed it to ourselves and our lack of self-control is to blame.
