I will try to teach my students some basic adjectives in answer to basic questions..
like
"how was your weekend" or "how are things"
so they can do something other than give me a blank stare and if I catch their eye long enough, they'll turn to their friend(s) and say "boya?"?
anyways.. I've been thinking about this back and forth and can't decide on the answer is the context/circumstances and tone of voice aren't allowed for.
he's good. He's pretty good. (which is a stronger positive reference?)
he's bad. he' s pretty bad (stronger negative?)
the reason I was thinking of using pretty good, pretty bad is because pretty is one of the few adjectives they may know, especially the girls, because they always ask if they are pretty... LOL (yes, they also should know good and bad, though they have to be pressed to use them) |
