There used to be a free, ad-supported viewer at the Haansoft website...but it doesn't seem to be available anymore.

Try Googling: hwp viewer

There seems to be a number of sites offering a download...but I don't know how many are spam or if any of the links are working.

PM me if you can't find it and I'll send you the file via email.

Ask a Korean friend to open them on Hangul Word Perfect and resave them for you.

Yes I have the viewer, however sometimes I need to edit files at home.

Yes they are stupid. I know lets make our format incompatable with the most commonly used software in the world.

I was just hoping for a torrent somewhere. I have searched all the common western sites but no go

IF you can't find one, send me a PM and I will upload an ISO of HWP2005 that you can grab.

It didn't take me too long to convince the teachers in my office to save files as RTF for stuff they need me to review and edit. I don't care what program they use on their own computer as long as the file they send me is RTF.

Yes I find that a simple, "If you can't send it as a file format I can read I won't do anything with it works a treat."
