Hi all
So about 5 minutes ago I was told to prepare a lesson plan for a demonstration lesson (whatever that is). Theme of Halloween. Oh and we need it by 9am tomorrow. You go girl!
Lots of stuff on the net I know, BUT for elem grade 4, what to do??? Help me not spend half my night working at home WTF. Telling them no is not an option today. 55 mins and counting till home time.....
Any ready made plans to tap into??????

no
Your work day finishes at 4:30pm
That is it.
If they cannot give you enough planning then tough.
Stand up for yourself or prepare to be walked on. |

Why not? You're going to get walked all over if you do it. If it absolutely HAS to be done with NO notice, tell your co-teacher to do it. |

You need to remember that NO is always an option. You don't have to defend it or explain, if they are asking beyond your job description or want you to work after hours or at home then there are two letters for it.
NO
or of course pay me 50k an hour OT cash in hand tomorrow morning. Estimated prep time at least 5 hours |

Home time is home time.
There is NO homework on this job.
The rest is your co-teacher's job/problem.
Side note:
Just do some trick or treat type activities:
Kids make a fast mask (color a pumpkin face).
Divide the class.
1/2 the kids get a bag, walk around and say say, "Trick-or-treat."
The other 1/2 give candy (or stickers if you don't have the time or budget for candy) and say, "This is for you."
Receiver says, "Thank you." and moves to the next station.
Once around the class, switch teams (giver and receiver) and repeat.

Hey all I'm not being a wimp. SOMETIMES being the hard arse gets you nowhere, softly softly and all that. On this occasion, it was the right thing to do.
Thanks Blade, I actually copied pasted and changed a few bits but it was enough to give them and leave on time. Appreciate the help. |

I agree with "No," "I have plans tonight," "I should've been told about this 1 week ago" and "Maybe next week." |
