They probably hang out together, that's why you know so many.
If you know one openly gay person, you probably know loads on account of openly gay people having friends that are openly gay. |

| My great grandmother lived to the age of 96. That's a long time. |

OK, so its probably unsubstantiated (just found via a google search), and its not from personal experience...but I did chuckle, espec where the bride says she ''hoped the marriage would last''!

Getting married 21 times is amazing too. |

HaHaHaHa...just gotta keep on trying, eh?
My Granny lived to 94, and was bright and active, right up until a few weeks before she died after breaking her hip. Often a killer, those kind of injuries in the elderly.
Juat remembered this, too: I had been living overseas for 10 years and returned only a month or so before her death. Regret that absence: she had been just about the most important and simply loving person in my life when I was growing up. Love you, Granny! |

| Off the top of my head, nope, but I've got four very hale and hearty grandparents over 85, so I hope I will in the next few years. |

This is completely random. I've been browsing the internet a bit at work and reading random news pieces from back home.
I came across an article that said only 14 in 100,000 people live over the age of 100. This completely blew me out of the water. I've known at least six or seven people in my life time who were over the age of 100 when they died. I had an great aunt who lived until 106. I thought this was common in the West--but I guess it isn't.
Just out of personal curiousity, does anyone here know anyone over 100? I'm wondering if it's regional or not. |
My maternal great-grandfather lived until he was 112. There were all sorts of stories about him. They say that 4 graves were originally dug for him - each time he continued living so the graves went to his wife, brother, and son before he was laid to rest. I don't know of anyone else that's lived past 100. |
