With so many heated threads about how much this and that is and how much it depreciates and blah blah blah, there should be a sticky directing people to the major sellers and sites where people can check out the current prices of new and used computers and adjust their listing prices accordingly.

The main site for comparison is www.danawa.com

You can find almost anything there to compare. The site is in Korean, but it represents the Yongsan electronics market online. It will list prices from cash only storefronts, credit card accepting stores, and prices from the major online portals such as GSeshop, Auction, Gmarket, 11thst, etc.

For used items and auctions, www.auction.co.kr is a good place to start. Prices for new items are not usually the cheapest because the sellers have to include the 6~8% service charges auction places on their sales. However, there are some really good used deals and it will give you an idea of what the going used rate is for your product in Korea if you have something to sell.

For mac enthusiasts, there is always the apple store, but for the used mac market place, here are some places to start. (All are in Korean, but the main details about the products are usually all in English)

http://kmug.co.kr/sale.htm

This is the Korea Mac Users Group (KMUG) and there are both regular listings and secure listings as well as a wanted board.

Here are a few more:

maczoo

kissmac

tomatomac

When listing computers for sale, check out some of the sites above to find out what the new or used value of what you are selling is currently and adjust your price accordingly.

Keep in mind that any software you are including has no monetary value if it does not come with the original CD/DVD and licenses. (i.e pirated)

Anyone else have any good sites to add. I'll edit them in. Wink

This should be a sticky.

That takes out all the fun. Spliff and others (I guess me to a certain extent) won't have anything to do then.

I see Spliff as a necessary evil on this board. He calls out people who are selling their items for unfair prices and he's got a good understanding of the current value of computers / parts.

He simply relays this information too us and potential buyers can then make a more informed decision about buying here.

I don't like his haircut though. Mad

Nah, don't worry. Buyers and sellers will still neglect to do their homework and post ridiculous sale prices or post unsupported price claims in the computer related threads.

With the information above, people can check things out for themselves. Then they can come in with legitimate spliffs.

Being a pentium 3, it looks more like a 300k or 400K laptop.
