Right when I'm about to finish my contract and leave and need to convert won into dollars the won loses 35% of it's worth.

I remember when 1000 won could buy $1.38 three or four years ago. |

It's better today than it was yesterday.
remittance:
buy dollars - sell won: 1,297.40 won per dollar
sell dollars - get won: 1,272.60 won per dollar
Cash exchange:
buy dollars - sell won: 1,307.48 won per dollar
sell dollars - buy won: 1,262.52 won per dollar
Rates are from the exchange board at Woori Bank and are what you actually get (not interbank rates).

I've been getting a better rate by removing money from ATM and paying 3% on the take-out.
Wooribank robs you blind.
I've been getting the previous day's close rate until midnight the following day, or something to that effect.
Different cards and different banks follow different policies on their rates. |

I haven't been getting much for my won for the last several years...
FINALLY - the last few weeks - when I send won home to my homecountry I have been getting MORE money (AUD$$$)

I remember when 1000 won could buy $1.05 a couple months ago. Losing 35% value in 2 months is just plain bad business. |

Then don't convert the money now. It's not that hard of a concept. |
