Hi guys!

I figured I'd post this little update in the "general discussion forum," since Ursula put something about it in the off-topic forum. Anyway! Here goes.

I got here almost two months ago, and the best things I've done so far have been to hike Dobongsan and to join Waygugin Parade.

This improv group is run by Ursula [LAST NAME REDACTED TO AVOID STALKERY,] and she does a really fantastic job of giving our group improv games to play that allow us to create a scene, build characters, and have the madcap adventure funny that makes "whose line is it anyway?" almost as funny in the American version as it was in the British.

Waygugin Parade is changing rehearsal venues to make it more convenient to downtown Seoul. From now on, we'll be rehearsing in the conference space of my co-op at Dongdaemun Stadium. If that makes it easier/possible for anyone to come to the rehearsals - to participate or observe the funny- please send us an e-mail at [email protected]

We're a young troupe so we haven't got much in the way of sketch comedy written yet, but we've been making a lot of progress in a short amount of time. We meet once a week, now set for Tuesday evening 8:00 PM- 10:00 PM. We're trying to set ourselves apart by tackling long-form improv as well as short-form as well as venturing into sketch comedy. We're coming up with some really fun concepts.

I really hope some of you join us. The more the merrier. Very Happy I'll leave you with the words of MC T-Money.

I got mah kimchi fermentin in a tall glass vase
Gonna smash that cabbage right in ya fat face
Red pickled pepper hot in ya grill can't stop
Reminiscing I was kissin ya mom- she's mad hot.

(I know... cheesy, cheesy! white girl writing rap for a Korean!)

Whoa, you're embarrassing me!
Alternatively mocking my forum skills and praising my running of the troupe.
*>.<*
But seriously, as a young troupe, there's a lot of space for you to bring to the table whatever you want to do. You want to try long form? You want to only act in sketches? You want to make short comedy sketches on film to show at shows? We can do that. We'll help you make your mark.
I'm just saying.

Sounds fun, I could be up for a night of that.

BTW Kakapo, are you Kiwi? Doubt many others know about our stupid fails of natural selection. They lived so long without predation that they lost the ability to fly but not the instinct, so that when cats showed up with the whities Kakapos would often run up trees and jump out of them hoping to fly, only to fall to there deaths. Now that's natural comedy.
