I'm just trying to reconcile my own hate for America. One day at a time.

As we all wander down the road
our shadows taller than our souls
there walks a Canadian who knows
hating our state ain't hating US
and if you dribble out the pus
anyone can do better than Bush
but she's buying a stairway
to Palin

Gopher, do you ever get exhausted with being hysterical?

Careful. Per Kuros, that term indicates feminization.

I'll speak for myself, thank you.

I'm quoting you, not asking you to speak, so thanks anyway.

What is funny about this is I can find numerous instances of McCain supporters doing this as well. Please don't tell me that it's a one sided deal.

For example...?

Milwaukiedave: interesting dynamic here. The left has shown that it not only loses badly, but that it does not know how to win graciously, either.

You really shouldn't expect to get beaten up at that kind of event, unless it's some kind of Klan rally.... Confused

Win? It ain't over. Got any footage of Obama supporters calling McCain a terrorist? Or is that just one-sided?

I find this much less worrisome than some of the other stuff I've read about. When men are feeling very emotional about something they can get violent. I've seen fights opposing spectators at Junior A hockey games in Alberta.

Do stay on point, Nowhere Man.

Examples. Got any? (Go to Google, real quick-like, and type away, because I know you have none right on the top of that pinhead of yours, just waiting for you to pick it up and wield it here ...)

We haven't had an update on the Islamic siege of Europe for awhile.

Wouldn't it be clever to bankrupt the western world and then hand it off to the Muslims?

They'd be like, "oh crap..."

Correct me if I am wrong, but I understand that the GOP has used caging tactics in the past, purging minorities from voting rolls, and there was a case in Texas where a Democrat was purged, and he ended up being a candidate running for office, so it made it into the papers. I don't see that as being gracious. I am not saying that the Democrats are necessarily gracious, but I don't recall the GOP having called for a full recount of Florida in 2000.

Also, the vicious campaign against Anne Richards in Texas was beyond the Is that gracious winning? Karl Rove was trying to suggest she was a lesbian so George Bush could win. What about the redistricting that was done in Texas when Tom De Lay was around? I suppose someone needs to check the latest dictionary to see if the word gracious changed. Maybe, Gopher's on to something about how the GOP has been ever so gracious.

What exactly are you worried about, Mises? At any rate, spectators don't usually have guns at hockey games in Alberta as far as I know.

Adventurer: you wholly mischaracterize and attribute statements to me that I never made yet again. I am not going to address them.

Do stay on point. I will restate it for the learning-disabled:

I wrote: "some B. Obama partisans are going to Republican rallies to heckle the candidates while they speak, to bait some Republican partisans with camcorders, or to generally taunt them by chanting 'Obama! Obama!' until they provoke a suitable, newsworthy response..."

Milwaukiedave cited "numerous instances of McCain supporters doing this as well."

I asked him to produce these "numerous instances."

And Adventurer: we are talking about "J. McCain's supporters" and "the 2008 election."

Maybe worried is the wrong word. But the picture of Obama on a food stamp, the calls of "terrorist" etc. These suggest a wider cultural context, which a fight is probably just a fight.

You mean an uprising or possible civil war.

Deliberately taunting the other side, at their own rallies, no less, is not the way to cool this down, Mises. These partisans, those who are provoking, are stupid and irresponsible.
