None of the above.

I'll spend more time back home, and I won't be living here full time, but I'll probably still be here a lot.

Never going back home... probably me.... we have our 5 hectares of beach and now it is time to go watch the coconuts grow.

Stay here? Nope.... I'm outta here at the end of this contract.

Global economy is tanking, won is in the toilet, Korean management isn't getting any better and immigration has said there is NO HOPE of a teacher ever getting permanent residence without marrying a Korean national first.

No good reasons to stay here.
Many reasonable reasons to leave.

I'll stick around for another 20 years only if you promise to ask us the very same question again 20 years from now.

What a brilliant, well-though through, mentally stimulating question!

You'd have to be insane to still be in Korea 20 years from now. I'm sorry...life is too short to put up with all the garbage that you have to deal with in South Korea. Just think...20 more years of foreigner bashing, Koreans becoming more jealous and threatened by foreigners, Korean economic status declining in an everchanging world. 20 years of having to deal with the xenophobia and racism. No thanks. You can have it. I've got less than 90 days and I'm out. Couldn't be happier. You only have a little bit of life on this earth and you're going to spend the next 20 years of it in Korea...it's too sickening to even consider. Crying or Very sad

Don't let the door hit your a$$ on the way out. Or, then again, do.

I take it that you're one of these lifers. Hey, it's cool. If you want to spend the next 20 years in K-land. That's your deal. Relax a little there, guy. Take a deep breath.

I'm always amused when someone on Dave's says "relax, take a deep breath", insinuating the other person is upset.

Quite the contrary, I'm as calm as can be typing this now. Both my daughter and wife are asleep and I'm pitter-pattering my way across these here keys, as relaxed and calm as you could possibly imagine.

I'm just imagining what it must be like for you, living somewhere you hate so much. Your negativity here will not be missed, as I'm sure your presence won't be either.

I never said that I hated Korea. Sure, the place drives me nuts at times, especially lately. So, I would say I have a like/dislike relationship with the ROK. Right now I dislike it. I don't love it or hate it. No need to get pissy, dude. Usually, responses like "Don't let the door hit your ass..." come from people who are jealous because others might actually find that life is better elsewhere and that working in Korea is not the end all, be all of existence. You probably wish that you could leave Korea, but you can't for whatever reason. You're stuck. As I said, that's cool. It's your deal. Enjoy the next 20 years or so Very Happy

I apologize, Hanson. I'm just a bit pissed off about things lately. No offense meant. Just a bit tired after a long day today. Peace.

Idea I think in 20 years time there will be about a 60% chance that the two Koreas will be reunified - in one form or another.

That changes the whole dynamic.

I can just see CDI and YBM foaming at the mouth about the prospect of opening hangwons in Pyongyang.

Here? I don't know.

Scotland? Once my parents are dead, I have no reason to go back and plenty of reasons to stay away

Not enough choices in the poll. I picked the second one, as it was the closest. Really, I have no idea how long I will be in Korea; I've already been here for two decades, but I cannot say if I'll be here for another twenty years (heck, I don't if I'll be anywhere in another twenty years). With that said, I play everything year by year, but Korea is my home.

I second that. I don't know which option to select. I'll be here for a good while longer, but I don't think it will be 20 years. And I definitely don't want to be buried here. Shocked
