(I ship to APO here...)
As a self employed technology guy, I've never subscribed to one brand or another all of the time...Product lines as well as manufacturers change.
Since moving here to korea, I have noticed that there is always ENGLISH issues with hardware/software to be purchased, so I would rather just pay the USPS "FLAT RATES" to korea APO.
Just a couple days ago I bought a Dell Vostro DT 410 Tower through dell's site, but I researched many locations prior to purchase...Dell has deals that you have to hit the site in a lucky way to find...Free upgrades that put them just above the other competition out there.
Other options, newegg.com, tigerdirect.com, pricewatch.com, bestbuy.com, hp.com...
If i really wanted to get a system in a rush, not worrying about price, I can also go to my local military base PX to purchase one.
The big issues:
who ships to korea through a non APO account.
knowing the latest technology and what you really need.
knowing what internal brand names are not going to blow up on you.
Overall, dell systems tend to be overpriced (unless you find the "special" deals that are hidden on their site (a bit of luck). But their quality tends to be very high.
Also, you may try emachines (gateway brand). They tend to be an inexpensive way to get a decent lower end system.
Perhaps, I could help some people out using my APO. |

If it's a laptop, use this: http://www.softsift.com/200701/i8kfangui-30-dell-notebook-fan-control-utility.html
I had to get my video card replaced twice because it fried itself due to overheating. It was because of the terrible fan settings in the bios. Now I use this to keep the fans running at least on low all the time and I've never had a problem again. |

I actually recently bought a dell, and either a MB or Processor went out...I bought it through the states side dell...The warrantee can be covered by the seoul dell. I have the option to send it back for a refund, but i really like the system and I don't want to wait to find another one.
I have three phone numbers for the korean dell, but being that all of their prompts are in korean, i don't have a way for the warrantee to be serviced here...until i find someone that speaks korean for me. The number i have for vostro support is...080-854-0066
Can someone call that number and tell me what prompts i would have to push through to get a tech/human on the phone that might be able to speak english? The other numbers are 002-800-228-93355, 080-200-3800 |
