Hello everyone,
I need to make a claim against my employer for not paying me, and I need to know what I need to do to do that.
I assume that I should go to the Ministry of Labor, but they just give addresses, not subway stops and directions.
Do I need to go the the office for my district, or will any office work? I believe my district is:
Seongnam District Office of Gyeongin Regional Labor Office
Tel. 031-788-1505 ~ 8
Jurisdiction -
Address 215 Byeonyeok-ro, Bundang-gu, Seoungnam-si, Gyeonggi-do
Does anyone know where that is? |

Think this is the number you want to call....Their hotline number is 1350, press 7 to speak to someone in English. Available from Monday to Friday, from 9am-6pm. |

No, you need to go to the office in which your school is located. Or to the national office in Gangnam. I wouldn't use them unless the regional office is giving you the runaround. |

The forms are all in Korean. You will need someone to help you fill out the forms. You CAN grab a form, and take it with you, fill it out and bring it back.
Also, on the form where you fill in the amount of money you are requesting, aim high. The Labor rep can always reduce the amount if you can't prove everything, BUT you can't ADD more to the total, later, if you find out you're owed more money. If you find that you're owed more money, you'll have to file a separate complaint that will take even more time. |

Not true. I did in my second labour complaint. In my initial interview with a labour caseworker, she asked me various questions about my situation, then added some things I had not known I could claim.
In any case, a small claims amount does not have to be the same amount as your labour complaint. |

In the original interview at the front desk? Yes, but not at the hearing. |
