Don't know if you've been able to find a decent philly here or not but...

I recently discovered a little philly cheese steak stand near Anam (Korea University) Station Line #6.

The guy running it (Tom, although Korean) recently came back from San Diego with the idea of making these steak and chicken phillies. I was happy to find the place because I hadn't had one for a while and, to be honest, it was pretty decent.

They're 5-6 inch subs, and he cooks the meat and veggies on the grill for you right there. So, usually I get two, one steak and one chicken..and it fills me up pretty nicely. He's a friendly guy and genuinely wants to make you happy.

Also, the best part is each sandwich is only 2,500 and you can get a drink for 500. So, you can have a filling western lunch for less than six bucks.

Anyways, I know this is a shameless plug, but I really want to see the guy do well. If he doesn't, I can't have the goods anymore...

To get to his stand, go to Anam station line 6, go out exit 3...then turn right at the first small street you come to, walk about 20 feet and look to your right. You'll see the sign and the stand.

Do you know if he's open everyday? Later in the evening?

You have done nothing but tease me with something that can never be. Curse you to the seventh circle.

Haha...I don't mean to tease anybody, really. Maybe sometime when you're in Seoul you can stop by.

I'm not sure if he's open every day, but I think so. And I'm pretty sure he's there til the late evening, maybe 10 or 12....(he told me but I forgot...sorry). Confused

I am only in that area every Friday (to go to a hospital nearby), but I'll ask him again next Friday and make it a bit more clear.

Anam is also very close to my apartment! It's a 5-min bus ride, I'm definitely heading there soon, I love to try anything new or hard to find in Seoul.

Thanks!
