Joo go lay.
Use....
-when someone is in your way.
-when you want a discount.
-when someone cuts in line.
-when it's your turn to pay.
-when your coteacher asks you to work an extra class. |

|
|
No worries, Poet13.
One really useful in-class Korean thing is not so much a phrase: call on the students by their number.
I'm not sure if this applies to every school, but in my school, in every class, the students have a unique number (from 1~35), but are sitting at random around the room. When I need someone to answer a question or read for me, I call the next person in the room.
il-ban (일번)
i-ban (이번)
.
.
shim-yoog-ban
etc
Why use the Korean in addition to or instead of the English "Number 1, Number2, etc"?
The students seem to perk up more when they hear themeselves called in Korean. I think it's just their conditioning kicking in, and they can't help themselves. Some even semi-stand autonomously, and then you see the flicker in their body language as they catch themselves and switch to consciously deciding whether or not to really stand up. |

I'd like to know "Move your shit!"
As in, "The bench press station is bench pressing, not for you to store your phone and hang your towel. Move your shit!" |

You can say this nonverbally by throwing their shit all over the goddamn floor. |

일번 = il-bun (or il-beon)
일반 = il-ban |
