She won't do press conferences but she will go on a comedy program. Good to see she's taking this whole campaign thing seriously.

McCain was resecheduled for Letterman this week as well, and was telling him he screwed up, etc. as well as spent most of the time trying to spread and support his weird-ass lies about Obama and Ayers and other weird stuff.

During the appearance, Letterman got McCain to commit to getting Palin on the Letterman show.

------

p.s., Palin did well on the SNL skit.

She shouldn't try to do that hip-hop dance thing she did ever again.

Just doesn't look Vice-Presidential. Mad

I thought McCain actually handled the appearance on Letterman well. He showed sincerity and honesty as well as humility. I've not seen the SNL clip yet, but I'll take a look.

Fooled me. I heard Fay didn't want to do the Palin character anymore (maybe a set up for the SNL ep) so I thought that was her way of bowing out.

Right. Now Palin will appear as herself every week. Come to think of it, come November... Laughing

She stood and said a few rehearsed lines and actions. She's had a lot of practice doing that. Very Happy

edit: Did anyone notice she was posing behind a horse's ass? Very nicely done, Lorne.

I thought McCain actually handled the appearance on Letterman poorly. He showed insincerity and dishonesty as well as a lack of humility. I've seen the SNL clip, but I'll take another look.

FUNNY, I didn't notice that.

I noticed that as well. The way he has been running his campaign is abysmal. He sounded incredibly dishonest and sincere trying to back up bad facts. Kind of like a kid caught in a lie, and just perpetuates it worse and worse digging himself in a hole.

I was also watching a documentary (FRONTLINE) about the two campaigns. How originally he had the 'Straight Talk Express' bus with the works in it, and it was costing him $10,000 a day to keep on the road, and fairly quickly went through his entire budget and one of the largest financially mismanaged campaign tours. Several disconnected McCain groups not knowing what the other was doing, no sense of the budget they were on, and who was spending what (which is why they ran out of money so quickly), etc. He had to fire most everyone as it was so badly run and managed, the only way to get it back on track was to start again. With all the EXPERIENCE he supposedly has, shouldn't he have a better grasp on this stuff by now?

Where?

The only animal I see is a llama.

An actor dressed like A. Lincoln, a llama, and two showgirls appeared in the background, backstage apparently, during that scene. Sounds like there should be a bar joke somewhere in all of that...

In any case, I find the fact that you excluded Lincoln and the showgirls and focused on the llama, mischaracterizing it as "a horse's ass," and then interpreted it for us, suggesting that Lorne Michaels purposely did it to embarrass her, wholly unsurprising.

Amy Poehler's rap was funny. She's such an animal--I love her!

I find your reinterpretation typical as well. Llama or horse, both it and Abe Lincoln had their asses turned to Palin for most of the skit. The animal's backside had the greatest amount of onscreen time, while Lincoln was hidden for the latter part. Some people didn't notice any of them. I'm not sure what you read out of it, but I don't call it flattering.
