I hope I can get some input on this. I really like the "English Time" series for use as a speaking book. It also has a bit of reading, writing and phonics. I think by level 6 it teaches a good foundation on English. What could I follow this up with?
I also want to know what books do you like to teach reading? Writing? Phonics? Grammar? I have taught a lot of books in my time here, but I can't remember the names of the good ones.
I'm looking for a few series of books that can take an elementary student from beginner to intermediate.
I hope some of you have experience and can help me out.
Thanks!

I really don't like the english time/lets go style text book.
Personally I found the spin series a pleasure to teach. Clear concise chapters. heavily focused on grammar. I could see a real improvement in their writing |

Finally!!!! Someone with some ideas! I know that book, and I was thinking of using it. I like the English Time books because I think they are well organized and allow a lot of freedom to do speaking and writing exercises.
I wish I could find a Phonics book that wasn't completely BORING! I know phonics is not the most exciting thing to teach, but there has to be a good book out there! |

I teach the smart phonics book it's easy to teach from (notice a pattern here ). It's not the best but it is well laid out and organised. The work book is good, plus it is not too expensive. I have seen much worse |
