The amount that Barack Obama raised in September.

I don't want people to EXPECT an Obama win because that really does not help Obama to win. But Obama is by far the safest bet.
A half a billion dollars. For a political campaign. A half a billion. |

I can't prove it but I would bet money has been donated illegally. and that a lot of that money is from from foreign sources.
It is easy to give money to a campaign.
Mr Obama's campaign can't check where all that money comes from nor does he have incentive to do so. |

Maybe he should forego being president for a career as fundraiser for the national treasury. That is truly a phenomenal figure. |

Really, with 3.1 million donors, that works out to each giving about $195. That isn't that startling of a figure when you see just how many people have given to the campaign.
Now, I'm sure some have given a lot less, and some have given a lot more, but really to reach that amount isn't over the top. |

hahhahahha- most donations were tiny...not many strings attached to a 20 dollar donation
Most of McCain's donations were at the legal donation limit- many more strings live there! |

Joo,
I'm sorry. But that is not the correct rejoinder. The correct response is:
Quote: |
public finance in the general election is dead, dead, dead. Any nominee from now on can safely opt out because the Internet makes it for the public to massively participate. |
