I'm supposed to give a special lesson on New Zealand culture. To actually convey what New Zealanders have become like would be too embarassing, but I thought maybe I could talk about popular sports (rugby and cricket) traditional foods (roast mutton and pavalova), different locations and so on. Anyone have any other ideas?

NZers come from pioneering stock so:

we love DIY and we're good at it
we're not scared of bugs and other animals
we'll try anything once
we dislike extreme diparities in wealth
we enjoy hunting/fishing/shooting/the outdoors
we aren't obsessed with our appearance

there you go, koreans will be amazed by all of those Smile

Yes, I could mention all those things as traditional New Zealand values. I'm not sure how relevant they still are in the current freak show though.

Can you elaborate on the "current freak show?"

I don't know who/what any of these are except for women's suffrage, and I don't know how that relates to New Zealand Laughing

New Zealand is famous because Lord of the Rings was shot there, they have lots of sheep, I think maybe it has a good school system?

Home and Away is Aussie!

Replace it with Shortland Street and she'll be right. Very Happy

Play some music, like 'Welcome Home' by Dave Dobbyn or 'Don't Dream it's over' by Crowded House.

Maybe you show them the lyrics and all sing together too.
