I just read this. Anybody read anything else, like where exactly this took place? Pretty scary.

Quote:
SEOUL, South Korea A financially strapped South Korean man went on an arson and stabbing rampage in Seoul on Monday, leaving six people dead and seven others wounded, police said.

The 31-year-old suspect, identified only by his surname, Jeong, first set fire to his room in a low-cost lodging facility in southern Seoul and then stabbed other residents with a sashimi knife while fleeing the fire, police said.

Five people were stabbed to death and another died after jumping out of a window to escape the blaze, police said.

Seven others were wounded, including four seriously, and the death toll could rise, according to police.

The suspect, arrested at the scene, told police he did not want to live because "everybody looks down on me," Kim Kap-shik, chief detective at Seoul's Gangnam Police Station, told reporters.

Then he should have started by stabbing himself.

How do you know I'm not an ESL teaching Kyopo?

I don't, but your empathy level is very high - like level 10 or something.

I'm lazy, I didn't want to look at your past posts and anyways, it's better imagining you as a kyopo.

That moron was crying over his rent and cell phone bills. If you cant afford rent then you should get rid of the phone and stop buying expensive Japanese sushi knives. People need therapy.

There's a lot of young new money especially in his neck of the woods, no pun intended. This dude had no plan B and was most likely high from Chamisil.. we all know Korean rage is serious and deadly. But the "fish knife frenzy" reference from CNN, come on now?!! Ok, kind of funny I admit.

seems like the OP had a reasonable stab (er.. no pun intended..maybe) at alliteration himself.
sorry, thats a little cold. this is sad news and i hope this thread doesn't generate into a typical anti-korean hate-fest.

http://www.koreaherald.co.kr/

This is the Korean Times piece on it. Surprisingly little information. I'm from the states where we are fascinated by violence so to me this would be on page one of every newspaper. The fact that the guy killed six with a knife; he must have been practicing for a bit. I'm not trying to be humorous. Really, how do you kill six people with a knife?
