An ajumma in a super market walks up to the counter and puts down her items. Among them is an egg carton. The owner of the store looks at the carton and notices that two of the eggs have been cracked. He tells her some of the eggs have been damaged and he will replace the carton for her.

But the ajumma says no. Instead, she makes a confession. She tells the owner that she accidentally cracked the eggs and she will pay for her mistake. The owner can't help but feel good about the honesty in the woman. After all, this is Korea and he rarely gets to see a customer with such integrity. Especially from 'jummas.

The ajumma pays for the eggs and leaves the store. Sometime later that day, the owner walks by the egg aisle. He suddenly freezes because he can't believe what he's seeing. All of the egg cartons have descended to the floor and the eggs are all crushed. The ajumma somehow dropped every single carton on the shelf. Then she simply took the one with the least number of cracked eggs and went to the counter.

100% true story.

It "serves him right?" So you think anyone who trusts anyone else deserves to be fucked over? Huh?

PS - OP... how do you know this happened? "Sometime later that day?" Are you bff with the store owner and check up on him multiple times a day?

Oh for God's sake, How did I know someone was gonna jump all over that comment. I knew when I said it someone would be pissed. I didnt mean to imply that the guy DESERVED to be fucked over. To be honest, not sure what I meant. I was thinking if the guy didnt hear anything then we must not have been minding the store too close, or it was quite big and he couldnt hear it, either way I might have checked the egg section before I went.

All i meant is, I worked in the service industry for years. When a guy said that the money was on the table, the dude didnt leave the restaurant until I confirmed this.

Not quite the same thing, but kind of where i was dwelling in my thoughts.

I am not a troll for christ sake.

In the last three weeks I have

1) vented
2) criticised
3) tried to buy a turkey pan
4) tried to get people to play poker
5) tried to start a writing club
6) helped people with gym questions
7) advised on Korean websites.

I am not just an "ignorant foreigner" who trolls the board looking to complain, however even IF thats all i was, Id sure be in good company on here now wouldnt I.

You have issue with what I said on the "Sympathy" thread, FINE, I noticed that you have not yet responded to my last comment either. have you even read it?

I guess if I am not complaining about KOrea every two seconds I am labelled a troll. Heaven forbid someone like the country and defend the damn place.

What do we call the people who do next to nothing except spout off about how bad Korea is?

lying, saving face, the guise of social responsibility, others-be-damned-in-public ethic

the story has it all in a concise short funny format

to be remembered, very apt

very korean
