I like the UFO story:

http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/10/20/britain.ufo.sightings/index.html

And people wonder why the UFOs don't just drop by and say hello.

Because WE'RE A BUNCH OF BARBARIANS!!!!

I bet if you compared that to world news circe 1008 it would look pretty damn good. The human race is growing, but people are usually to small to see past their own short lifespans.

If they had real news back in 1008, it would've been far more barbaric.

"Suspected witch drawn and quartered in town square; her various bodyparts are each raped by the good Christian men of the village."

"Sir Rupert the Bignosed returns from Crusades with 2000 noses of heathen men, women, and children."

"Village of gypsies burned down to save town from pickpockets."

"The End of Times to begin in 1010, warns local clergy."

"Dwight Goodbottom to sell his 11-year-old daughter into prostitution; send inquiries to the editor."

"Mother kills son, 11, and daughter, 12, for doing housework on the Holy Sabbath."
