Im a limey and am under the firm belief that Obama will win the US election quite easily. It seems that the british press wants this to happen. My friend from New York is not so sure and believes McCain can still win.
I think people from the states will have a better opinion based on their own inside knowledge of how things work over there, so, what do you guys think. Im not looking for personal opinion or prefernce just genuine informed opinion on whos going to win.
Again, NOT personal opinion, but informed opinion... |

I will vote for Obama, I hope he wins. I think it will be very close - don't forget, the American voting system is ridiculous - 1 vote is not 1 vote.
I hate Republicans - I'm a buddhist and yet I feel proud saying it. They are either evil (rich people), stupid (poor folks) or both evil and stupid (george w. bush, sarah palin, etc....) |

Glad you are voting for Obama, but are you serious on the Buddhist garble? You give Buddhism a bad name as Bush gives Christians a bad name.
Hate the policies, not the person, and if you are Buddhist you will understand that. |

If becoming president and a potential vice president is acheived through being stupid, i need to dumb myself down some.
I particularly like the way rich people are evil and poor people are stupid, your showing a real depth. You must be the poorest man in town. |

No previous candidate (since modern polling began in 1936) has come back from McCain's deficit within two weeks. |

Obama has leads of over 10% in almost enough states to win the Electoral College now, two weeks before the election. He has smaller leads in all but 3 of the toss up states. McCain has pulled out of at least 3 states because he has given up. Non-partisan people who actually like him are telling him to stop the viciousness and go out as the Happy Warrior.
Obama in a landslide, probably with enough coattails to give Democrats uncontested control of the House and Senate. |

I'm an independant, but I personally dislike both candidates & vppicks. I don't know who I am voting for. Maybe third party? I really liked Ron Paul because I agreed with what he was offering over all other candidates.
Who do you choose: Bush 3 or Marx 2? It's a shame our country has come down to this.
I believe the election is already planned anyways. With that said, I think the people in charge have chosen Obama to be the next prez.
I don't know. Now I feel depressed. |

In a way he has a point. When the 2 major parties pick their figureheads, it's a battle of brainwashing the public against each other. The smart people stay out of it and don't get brainwashed, but sadly they don't vote OR throw away their votes on 3rd party candidates.
Those that do research know that our gov't isn't our own and that the people in power are controlling the election anyway. This whole election is a well-oiled machine. From McCain's actions of always backing down from Obama and being too "nice," it's obvious his handlers told him what the deal is: Obama's the next prez. Believe-you-me, I am unhappy as the next person, but if I am wrong I will be very surprised.
Then, when you think about how they tell you voting is so important, but then you know your vote doesn't count, you get depressed and just "hope."
Trust me, I love my country and I hate to see it go down the shitter. I'm pretty young so I have only lived through 7 elections (really 4 because I think I only really grasped the situation in HS), but I associate elections with bad times. Sometimes I wish the third parties would get more coverage to let people there is more out there. |

You have a point, and I know they want to take control of Congress, but it seems that they will have a easier time with Obama in office...easier to control and whatnot.
To be honest, I really don't know who they will choose, but they are making a very good case for Obama being the winner. |
