For those whom have asked:

Yes, for serious offers, I would be willing to go to Seoul to make the transaction.

Actually, only a small fraction are conflict or blood diamonds, with estimates putting this figure at around 2-3%.[/quote]

oh come on. Do you really believe it is only 2-3%? Thou who has the money, creates the stories and rules. Please

So you are suggesting that the diamonds that are mined and sold in Canada (like the OPs) are somehow connected to some African conflict?

Or perhaps the ones mined in Russia, India or South Africa?

The other locations where diamonds are found are but a small percentage of the total diamond market.

Although the Kimberley Process has been moderately successful in limiting the number of conflict diamonds entering the market, conflict diamonds smuggled to market continue to persist to some degree (approx. 23% of diamonds traded today are possible conflict diamonds

Note to potential buyers:
Caveat - the price is OK for what you get (and about 1/2 the price you would pay for a simiar ring in Korea) but the grade of the stone is LOW. Your average engagement ring would usually have a grade of VS1 or better and a brilliant / round cut. I have never heard of a cut called "good".

Mmmm 350... I'd have to pass. How about 650? Which is a relatively firm price... relatively:)

v1y7h, no offense bro but the diamond's clarity is I2! Crying or Very sad

I2 clarity = Obvious inclusions easy to locate with the unaided eye. In a diamond this size (roughly 0.5 carats) the inclusions and imperfections would clearly stand out to the naked eye. Confused

In Korea they don't deal in lower than SI2, I know this because I've shopped around for months.

That being said, I assume you'd be lucky to get 600,000 for it at a GIA dealer here in Seoul (platinum band notwithstanding).

Since you haven't sold it at a dealers I'm assuming that there must be a reason. What I'm trying to say is that I'd be interested in taking it, but I would not feel comfortable paying anymore than around 350,000 cash for it.

v1y7h,

FYI an engagement ring going on Amazon.com with very similar specs (only diff would be the cut: 'very good' not 'good', and the color: 'H-I' not 'G-H')

The ring is brand spanking new and sells for $730 + free shipping...

my offer of 350 is as high as I'll take it

WDYS?

I was offered $350 CAD by pawnbrokers before leaving for Korea. With the exchange rate considered, I'll have a hard time being convinced to sell this ring for less than 650,000. With that being said, I've already held on to it for too long, so... serious buyers, please PM or email me.

I dont condone it, but it matters to the fairer sex Smile

Uh... no it doesn't. I have a beautiful ring that is a garnet. I love it wouldn't trade it for all the diamonds in the world. I don't like diamonds. They are cold and have no color.

Garnets are warm and deep and the color of blood they feel alive. So keep you diamonds and $$$. Some of us prefer the thought and not the money.
