maybe... depends on who is asking....

Your previous employer is also required (by law) to give you a certificate of employment if you ask for it.

Usually no.

Just contact your (ex)-employer and they are obligated by law to give it to you.

Do hagwon directors generally know what a certificate of employment is and what's supposed to go in it, then?

yes and

Employee name
Employee ID (usually passport number)
Start date.
end date.
Duties
Employer name, address and phone number.
Employer "red-stamp"


It is a standard form and they should have it - fill in the blanks and print it off.

You can get one from your current school sometimes in just minutes.

Then your new school will request for ones from schools before your current school (if you had taught at other schools before). Very simple, all those involved know the system, so it is one thing that always goes very fast and smoothly.
