I remember there being a thread on Halloween costume stores in Seoul last year, but can't seem to find it on here! Anyhow, does anyone know where to find Halloween costumes in Seoul? I visited a costume shop last year in Sadang, but cannot for the life of me remember how to get there ... any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is a street cart/box man in Itaewon that has masks year round. If you look at KFC, turn and walk left. He's always there.

For a good costume, get yourself a shiny suit or pink shirt at any old Korean clothing store.

there is a costume shop in namdaemun actually...it's a little limited, but its not too bad. it's a party supply shop on the outside of namdaemun market. instead of entering it at the main gate, go left and walk around the market. just past a bunch of Nikon/Canon shops is a party supply store. upstairs they have costumes. can't recall the name, but its the best i've found in two years.

or you could order online, with a korean friend's help of course.

The Halloween store near Sadang Station (line 4) is called Halloween.
Go out exit 14 and walk about 50 meters.
It's open from 9:30 am~7:00 pm
Tel: 02-581-0661

The only country in Asia that really celebrates Halloween is the Philippines. And that's only in the big cities.
You're not in Kansas anymore. Wink

Pretty poor directions. As posted in the other thread:

exit 14, walk straight out quite a bit more than 50 meters till you get to the part of the sidewalk with the wall along your left side. Continue to the three-way intersection (with the hospital on one corner). Turn left and immediately jink right down the first alley/sidestreet. Halloween (with orange sign) is about 20m down the sidestreet on your right, in the basement.

They close at 4pm.

I wish I was in Tokyo or Osaka partying it up on the circle-line trains. Asshats have ruined it the past couple years, and cops are starting to crack down on the party car, but Halloween on the train has always been a blast.

I posted about this store last year, and I happened to stop by there again this year just in time for them setting up for Halloween.

There is a good place outside of Jongro 5 Ga station. If you walk out of exit 7 and walk straight for about 1 minute, you'll see a Woori bank on your right. IMMEDIATELY around the corner, you'll find the store. It's right across from the Cheongyecheon (sp?) You should see all the stuff outside.

They have masks, costumes (and accessories), and other party stuff. The prices were good, and they have quite a large selection.

Hope this helps!

I like the store near Nambu bus Station. It can be pricey though.
