I'd like to write a poem. Think it would be kinda nice.
(Can't believe I wrote a word that actually rhymes with 'rice'.)
But to write about Korea, I'd need a hundred more.
How much can I write about neighbours slamming their fukking doors?
I guess I could write about snot, traffic or pollution.
But......

That's as far as I can go. What the hell rhymes with pollution? revolution? ablution? solution? collusion? delusion? Way too much work involved. Just aint got the skills.

Awesome job Bingo.

YOu are a fine humanitarian and while I have never been pestered with the homework assignment, if I ever do I will follow your noble example.

I don't mind those surveys. I'm happy to help. Sometimes the girls are cute.

I think it's cool and all that you still frequent the board even though you are no longer living in Korea, but I do find it odd if not disingenuous that you don't post in the past tense.

Wouldn't saying "I never minded those surveys. I was always happy to help. Sometimes the girls were cute." not give the impression that you are living here?

You're right. I should have phrased it in past tense. Although I sure have plans to return as a tourist and odds are I'll be plied with one in future. Hence, the tense is appropriate.

I always had fun with those. I'd pick a character, say Judy Jetson, and go with it. Made for some wildly confused Koreans. Razz

I could definitely identify with the poem written in the OP.

The first stanza is gold, but could I just get a summary of the next 20?

So rather than just say a polite No, thank you, and continue on your way, you have to be a tool about it?

Man, this old threat made my morning. We should all write a poem and submit it to the Korea Times and ask them to select and publish the winner....Unfortunately, they'd probably publish one written by a gyopo posing as a Westerner.

"Oh, the miracle on the Han, product of the highest man
The foreigner looked with awe, at everything they saw..." Shocked

Maybe it's the rhyme scheme, maybe it's the fact that I recently downloaded the Beastie Boys discography, but I'm getting more of a "rap" vibe than a "poetry" vibe here.

Read more like a fantastic Dr. Seuss rhyme to me!
