My hair's been thinning a bit around the temples, and I trying to keep it from getting worse. Before I left for Korea, I bought some Rogaine in the States that seemed to help, because I wasn't losing anymore hair, but I'm just about out of it now. Does anyone know where to get some here?
And yes, I know about Propecia, and I'll be getting on that soon, but I was seeing good results with Rogaine, so I'd like to stay on that as well. |

| There was a dude posted on here today about shaving all his hair off and would it be accepted in Korea. The general consensus seemed to be Yes. Why not give that a shot and save yourself a few bob. |

Probably still called "Regaine" here (the original 'code name' for the product in the states years ago)... In the U.S. you can't have a pharmaceutical product's name reflect what it's supposed to do. Ask for 'minoxidil' (spelling probably wrong on that). |

My hair still looks fine now, but I'll definitely be visibly balding within a few years if this keeps up. You can tell it's thinning around the temples now, but it seems that you're not considered "balding" until you start to lose it on top. So if I can spend a bit of money and keep the hair I have, I figure that's a worthwhile investment. |

In the search field type in Rogaine. They have it. I just ordered some stuff from them, they have some good items, prices are a little more than back at home, but not terrible. Don't know how much Rogaine is back in the states, but here on the site, it is 40,000 won.
Also, I went into a pharmacy today, and they had a laminated poster of the different staged of baldness, as well as some suppliments to help slow the process. Didn't really look into it, as I am not suffering from it, but I thought I would take a picture of it to rib one of my friends who is. |

You can buy Rogaine in Korea at any pharmacy. Depending on the pharmacy they usually carry a Korean version which is cheaper. There are a couple that go by different name but the one I buy most often is called Ma-ee-nok-sil (마이녹실). It comes in 3 or 5% and there are different sizes of bottles. Check the prices, do the math, then buy whichever you prefer.

Dude, don't do it. It's a battle you just won't win and you'll blow a bunch of money trying. Just get a nice sleek shave or buzz cut. Nothing looks more ridiculous a guy combing his remaining hair in directions to cover his receeding hair or bald spot.

Meh, fifteen years ago maybe. Propecia has allowed me to go from a pretty noticeable thinning patch at 21 to a barely thinning (and continuously improving) patch at 26. When I first arrived in Korea, my college buddies were shocked at how much regrowth I had. Those same friends, upon seeing me a couple years later when I made it back to the States, we're even more shocked at how much it had continued to improve (to the point that they couldn't see it anymore). Eventually the shave is the road to go down, but I'd say you should consider your options before giving in, particularly if you're still in your twenties. |

I'm happy that Propecia is working for you, but please be aware of the potential side effects. From your post it sounds like you are not experiencing any but being aware is always a good idea. |

I'm aware, and I've researched it pretty heavily. I actually know a bunch of guys who are on it, and have been for years, with no side effects. The horror stories seem like a lot of hype and little else, and often seem to have compounding factors (for example: permanent erectile dysfunction in a dude that weighs 300 pounds). I tend to lump them in with the accutaine horror stories, as that drug more or less saved my life yet is frequently attacked as having horrific side effects. |

I freaked out after I noticed a small amount of thinning on my hairline. I'm not going to use it, so it's available if anyone wants. |
