This is kind of annoying. Some dude is next to my apartment playing guitar really loud at 1:34 a.m. That's kind of crazy. That's pretty inconsiderate. If he keeps going until 2 a.m., I am going to ring that doorbell. |

Why question if he is Canadian? Is this another ignorant attack on Canadians, just as another thread going on about Canadians wearing the flag on a backpack?
Are you American? I could go on about the many faults of Americans, but it wouldn't make a difference, because in the end, you (not all Americans) but you in specific, are ingnorant.

No idea... I rang the door bell like several ties, and he or they couldn't hear. I couldn't find the doorman downstairs. Finally, I went back up and rang the door bell several times, and this guy answered and apologized. I think he had a friend over who was playing. I am not sure, but he stopped, but you don't play electric guitar at an office tel at around 2 a.m. That's ridiculous. Anyway, what does playing electric guitar have to do with being Canadian or American? At least, the guy who answered didn't seem American. I am not sure where he is from. |

Theres a guy in my block who plays the piano and sings, sometimes at about 3-4am. Luckily, not heard a peep from him since the weather got cooler. |

I have singing drunks outside almost nightly. Screaming "shut up, go home" out the window helps a bit. But I guess your neighbor is already at home so forget what I just said. |

Hey dolt, how can you deduce that he was Canadian? Adventurer wasn't able to say for sure if he was, and if you are making the assumption because I am calling your ingnorant ass out, then that just proves that you are truly a knuckle dragging ingrate. And now anyone who plays guitar is a dope head. You need to work a little on comprehension of drawing conclusions and making inferences, illiterate dunce. You would have people believe "Guitar playing at 130 am... must be Canadian." Someone who is Canadian calls you ignorant, "Therefore it surely is a Canadian, but most assuredly a pot head."
Oh and by the way, simpleton, as far as drugs are concerned, moron, Americans abuse drugs just as much as Canadians, if not more. |

I haven't even seen the rest of this thread.
You're here complaining about it instead of banging on his door or calling security? What are you, Canadian? |

You could encourage him to get a Zoom 2 special-effects box and plug in headphones. That would help. |

You can call the police if he's being noisy after 11pm and file an official complaint. He will be arrested and taken away while they process the charges.
I've done it. It can be very gratifying when the adjosshi upstairs gets home from work @ 12am and drinks & yells till 5am on occasion.
Keep doing it until they get fined out of their apartment. Also, criminal compaints can keep them from being renewed.

Not sure why he wouldn't have done that in the first place. Most amps have a "Line Out" that, with an adaptor, you can plug a standard set of headphones into. |

No, I give him about 15 minutes more to play and then I started ringing his door bell. He didn't hear the door bell, so I tried to look for the ajossi who is supposed to be downstairs, and he was nowhere in sight, so I went back to the door and rang the door bell several times, and then finally someone answered.
I understand some people get to see each other late, and they want to listen to music jam a bit late, but playing an electric guitar on a Thursday is a bit too much when it's about 1:30 a.m. None of my neighbors bothered complaining, though I know they could hear the loud guitar. I was the only person who complained. The guy who answered the door seemed nice enough and apologized. They didn't realize it was that loud. If ringing the door bell several times in succession didn't work, I was going to bang. It is easier back home to just call the cops.
Anyway, you know it's pretty loud when they can't hear the door bell after you've hit it a few times. I like that kind of music but not when it's very late. If it was lower, it would have been okay. I am not saying he shouldn't play, just play no later than 12. I don't know my foreign neighbors, they just moved in. |

How can a foreigner speak to the police? I am not trying to get some eager new foreigners deported, but I will stop them from playing music past a certain hour. I seriously would have called the police last night if I knew a police officer who spoke English, and if the ajossi downstairs was there, I would have wrote it.
What do you think of leaving a door about not playing that guitar past 12?
I know in my early college days I was a bit noisy with music, too, but I know I could hear my frickin door bell, at least. I can't understand how they couldn't hear the doorbell.
Chicken, I didn't even know they had noise laws in Korea. Anyway, I was surprised none of the neighbors complained about the music. Their door was partially open. I could even hear it from the elevator. |
