| Whenever I've cleared my desk and have nothing to do, I like to while away the time looking at those "classic catches" or "top catches" video montages you get on YouTube. Some of the catches are outrageous. |

Never seen cricket in Korea but did play in Japan once with one of the universities. We played on a sunny but freezing cold Sunday morning in December. No one seemed to understand LBW and no one seemed to know how to bowl - more than half of the runs scored in the entire game were wides/non balls...
And then to top it all of I got accused of coming in to work drunk the next morning - no one believed me when I said my face got sunburnt playing cricket the day before...
But yeah, maybe we should introduce it to the Koreans... |

Someone could try to introduce twenty/20 or some form of backyard cricket. You need to bowl thousands of balls to be half good at bowling. Batting can come naturally though. Trying to explain LBW is a waste of time as well. It's makes about the sam amount of sense as offside in soccer.
If someone wanted to get a game going, I would be all over it. |

| There is a cricket competition. I have a couple of friends that play in ti. They play down in Suwon and there are teams from all over the place, including some Korean university teams. PM me and I'll send you a number to call. |

The Korean Cricket Association (KCA) Adidas League season runs from April to October. This year it was made up of 10 teams, with players from all over (Kor, Pak, Sri.L, Ind, Aus, NZ, UK, S.Af). The games are T/20 format, and are played at SungKyunKwan Uni. (Line #1) in Suwon, where there is even a cricket practice net (no sh*t!). All necessary equipment is provided by the KCA, with funding from the ICC and Victoria Cricket Association.
Most teams tend to have a few crackin' players; a few 'back-yarders' who can swing a bat, or throw a few Kookaburras down; and then a few players who make up the numbers, so whatever your skill level, you'll be sure to fit in. Conditions aren't the greatest - the pitch is transportable - and we play on the dirt style grounds that exist here in Korea.
The 2008 final will be played this Sunday, starting at 11am. That's it for the year, as it will be too damn cold in just a few weeks.
We are looking at getting some indoor games going through the winter months, but nothing concrete as yet.
For more info, contact: [email protected]
We will definitely be looking for players for the next season.
