Lets talk about firearms here.

What kind of guns do you own? What is your favorite one?

Back home I have an AK Saiga .308. Its a semi-auto rifle based off the AK-74. Mine has a 19" barrel, so it is LOUD. It is by far the loudest .308 caliber gun I've ever fired.

I love shooting that gun. Everyone at the gun ranges looks over at me wondering where the thunder is coming from.

Best part was the gun was only $250 new. I think they are more expensive now since there isn't much supply.

In the future I want a nice handgun. I was thinking of the .45 cal m1911. Need something more than a 9mm for some stopping power. However, a 9mm Glock is a great gun too. I know the Glock won't jam on me.

Personally, my favorite type of gun are Bolt-actions.

I've always wanted a WWII bolt action rifle. Are they expensive? There must be clods of them lying around in basements.

They are pretty cheap. They are easy to find. The problem would be quality. How smooth is the action on the bolt?

Why? Who do you need to shoot? Are you planning on being robbed by a really fat man? Or do you want to shoot Schwarzenegger?

I prefer a .45 over a 9mm. Its just personal preference.

There shouldn't be any question over that. Now, if I had said, "Yeah, I need a .50 cal handgun like the Desert Eagle or Smith and Wesson Revolver" then I can understand someone asking "Why?".

Truth be told, .45 cal handguns are more fun to shoot. I'll be using the gun 99.9999% of the to shoot at a gun range. If I want to shot the gun for my own enjoyment, then why not get the .45 which has a little more kick than a 9mm.

If, in the .000001% chance I find myself in a situation where I need a gun, I would prefer having the .45 cal over a 9mm.

I sold all of my rifles before moving back to Korea. Arizona has a lot of wide open spaces for shooting. I had a lot of fun and didn't even have to go to the range and pay for targets.

I had:

M1A 7.62x51mm NATO (.308) - sister to the M14, which civillians aren't allowed to own anymore thanks to the liberals. One of the best rifles ever made. The M1A will run just over a grand, but well worth the expense. Also had an Armalite national match rifle (green furniture), I've never owned a handgun, I just like rifles. Also had a 30-30 Winchester lever-action for plinking.

But what I really want is an M1 Garand. Razz

Everyone should own a Ruger 10/22

Ruger 10/22 rimfire autoloading rifles provide reliable performance with the following key features:

** America's favorite .22 rifle.

** High-speed, pivoted hammer for short lock time.

** Proven performance in a wide range of styles for every rimfire application.

** Barrel that is locked into the receiver by a unique two-screw V-block system.

** Unique, removable rotary magazine that offers superior reliability, no exposed magazine to dent and no uncomfortable protrusions at the rifle's balance point.

** Compact model features a shorter 16 1/8" barrel, short 12 3/4" length-of-full, high-visibility fiber optic front and rear sights, and correctly proportioned tapered forends with no barrel bands.

Chuckleheads,

You're gonna get all the lily-livered leftist, commie pinkos in an uproar.

Anyway, I like my Beretta 92FS. Close enough to my issued M9A1
that was an extension of me for four years including tours in Desert
Shield and Desert Storm.

.45? My only experience was my M3A1. Here's a bit. GreaseGunBaby.

Now THAT was a riot. Careful with that one. It only has a couple moving parts, and one's a bullet. Cool

I definitely understand guns for hunting. I even understand the misguided notion that a gun will protect you because so many other people have guns (and narrowminded view, but understandable). I do NOT understand in the least collecting guns just for fun or actually liking a gun. It's scary.

Mossberg 500 Persuader 12 ga. Six position SHOTFORCE Buttstock with Pistol Grip,
and a nifty, perhaps useless, but it looks tough, Red Dot sight.

Why not? It's a well crafted art, like a car. Some are historical, some are practical, some are pure art. My friend had a custom handgun he designed made for him.

You can't drive a gun like a car, but shooting one is a rush, or a hobby, or a sport, or a necessity.

I like the Glock 40. It has more stopping power than the 9 and doesn't jump as much as a 45. I have one of each and the 40's the one I keep under my pillow.

Great investments. They NEVER lose their value.
