Hawaii. Except for the poor gov't funding, it's the perfect place.

There seems to be a few of us Wisconsinites on this site! The world could do without PBR, but a world without brats, is like a world without sunshine. |

I have been to 29 states. I have to say that many are beautiful and fun.
My favorite is New Hampshire because it is clean, the hiking trails are great, Mount Washington is awesome, Lake Winnipesauke is big and beautiful, it is reasonably priced and the historic New England homes are cool.
Washington, California, Montana also have incredible scenery.
North Carolina has the best beaches.
And Massachusetts has great historical places and the bars are really fun.
Rhode Island has the Newport mansions which are something to see. |

Love the beauty of west Michigan beaches (Grand Haven, Leland, etc.), as well as Northern Michigan and the UP!
When I moved to SoCal, everyone was all excited to show me the beaches there (as if I had never been to a "real beach" before) Although, I liked the quirkiness of Santa Monica/Venice, overall, I prefer the cleaner beaches of west Michigan! |

Well, I know you asked for states...but I don't think I've seen any states entirely, so city-wise, I love New Orleans! It has a sexy atmosphere, purple sky at night, European-Caribbean-African vibe. The absolute BEST food, it's own dialect, bayous, the people are all characters, voodoo, unique cemetaries, zydeco. Love New Orleans!!
Second favorite is Seattle. I love the mix of sea and mountains. It's breathtaking.
And of course, Hawaii! Hawaii is so unique. Black sand and red sand beaches, waterfalls, flowers, geckos, crystal waters, excellent scuba and snorkeling, rainbows, it's really paradise! |

Yeah, Hawaii is tops for me. I love it there. Too bad this thread doesn't include US territories like Guam, Virgin Islands, Am. Samoa, etc. Those be some pretty sweet places too.
My top three) 1) Hawaii 2) Nevada 3) New Mexico |

Been to all 50 at least twice.
I have a hard time picking cause they all have good things about them. I guess I will have to go with Iowa and Texas as those are the states I was born in or lived in. I guess when you haven't been home in a while that is what you appreciate the most: Where you are from. |

Ho brah! I taught there, Maui, for a year. It's something else that's for sure.
My list;
3) Alaska - Beauty and isolation
2) Hawaii - It has EVERYTHING (black sand, red sand, surf, AHI POKE' quite possibly the best food ever)
1) Western Montana - It will always be home to me. The last best place! |

| I was stationed at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas and really hated it. Sometimes on weekends a buddy and myself would drive into New Mexixo. I really loved the beauty of the state and the people were so friendly. We would stop in a rest area and people would come up to us and invite over to their bbq. I have loved the state since. |
