I'm not but I don't eat red meat -

I was a vegetarian for a number of years and during a health issue a dr told me I should be taking sublingual b12 every day - this was quite a few years ago. well, I started doing so on a regular basis - bought it at GNC stores (in the u.s.)

when I came to K in 2003 didn't think much about it - and stopped taking it.

turns out, you store b12 in your body and you do make a little from other sources other than red meat - but that's the biggest one. it takes a while to show a deficiency so I didn't realize or think about it - but over the years - and experiencing a few attacks of listeria probably didn't help

I recently was diagnosed with a severe b12 deficiency - I ordered the same b12 I used to buy from gnc - they won't ship overseas but a relative shipped it to me - since I've been taking it I can't believe how much better I feel.

so watch out and don't think it can't catch up with you - I know a lot of vegans and vegetarians swear they are healthier than meat-eaters - which mostly they are but there are still some nutrients we all need; make sure you get them.

btw, I don't think the GNC stores here carry the B12 sublingual tablets (sublingual means you dissolve them under your tongue - the best way to absorb it)

peace Cool

If you are a vegetarian, honestly, don't come to Korea.

And if you do, cook yourself. Even dishes with vegetables often have a meat or fish sauce.

Remember, kids, kimchi is NOT vegetarian--it had fish paste.

There are a good number of happy vegetarians in Korea, both expats and Koreans.
