Messiahs were a dime a dozen in the holy land at that time, of course. Interestingly the samaritans had their own messiah executed by Pilate.
Jesus ain't so unique. |

Actually, in his time, Zeus got busy, leaving little godlings all over the place. |

So are you saying that Jesus is basically Heracles? Blasphemy!
...Wait a second, that makes perfect sense. |

Actually, when the early Christians were trying to convert pagans, this gave them a lot of difficulty.
Christians: We worship the Son of God.
Pagans: We also worship a son of a god.
Christians: No, no, His father is the supreme God.
Pagans: Zeus is the king of the gods. Doesn't that make him supreme?
Christians: Jesus turned water into wine, and was brought back to life by His father.
Pagans: Same with Dionysus. |

But Jesus was the only one who returned from the dead 3 days later.
This was witnessed, confirmed and written about by many unconnected people, who were so motivated by Jesus, they not only wrote separately and their writings conform to eachother.
He was also the only one predicted hundreds and thousands of years before he appeared.
A lot of the messiahs you're thinking of were political messiahs, opponents that Rome had to eliminate. Their goals were to wake the Jews into resistance and save them from Rome. Jesus was about saving people spiritually no matter if they remained under rome. You need to look up the original meaning of the word Messiah. |

Nah. Lots of mythologies have gods and heroes reborn.

No. You're making that up. Simply writing "some people in x location believe y" does not mean you confirm the reality of it. Silly Junior. |

So, self-fulfilling prophecy. Watch Life of Brian.

Then how do you explain the miracles they performed and the witnesses that saw them? |
