|
|
I finish up my contract in March, and I am starting to prepare myself for the job hunt. Regarding salary, I have heard two different stories from long-time teachers here. The first is that salaries in won will go up to attract teachers to Korea. The second is that salaries will not go up and may go down because the shrinking won is the result of the decline of the Korean economy.
Can anybody clear up this confusion? Should we expect more, less or the same for our work here? |

Your 2 theories will cancel each other out and salaries will stay the same. |

They aren't my theories. Both seem plausible, so I am not sure which to believe. |

I agree - equally plausible arguments. What happens next is anyone's guess. Fortunately you have until March to see how things take shape. I feel sorry for those teachers who have to renew their contracts in the next month or two. |
